The Icelandic goat first came to Iceland with the settlers and is there for often call the settler "goat". Since then there have been no goats inported to Iceland or for 1100 years. There are only 520 goats in Iceland. In Háfell in Hvítársíða is Icelands biggest goat farm. Groups who are interested in visting the Icelandic goat at Háafell are welcome there.
