Arnarvatnsheiði, extensive moors with many fishing–lakes. Accessible by jeep but very difficult in places. The track runs east between the lakes Arnarvatn and Réttarvatn on the Stórisandur sands, whence there are two routes, one to the valleys Víðidalur and Vatnsdalur, the other east to the Kjalvegur (Road F35) north of the mountain Sandkúlufell.
