Árnesey

Trékyllisvík, a broad bay with a good deal of flat land. One of best farming areas of the northern Strandir district. A biggish island, Árnesey, formerly called Trékyllisey, a good breeding–ground for birds. It was off there that Þórður kakali gathered the crew for his journey that led to the Flóabardagi battle in midsummer 1244. Much driftwood. A former shark–fishing centre.
