Bergsstaðir, an abandoned farm where a hollowed rock was at one time used for keeping whey in. It is enchanted, so that if water gets in, it does not mix with the whey nor does the whey ever freeze. If, however, the farm people neglect to keep whey in it, they will have bad luck. This has happened three times within living memory. The first time the farmer at Bergsstaðir lost 150 sheep, the second time 40 sheep and finally, in 1960, all his cows .
