Breiðabólsstaður, a farm, church and parsonage, often mentioned in historical records. Jón Ögmundsson served there before he became the first catholic bishop at Hólar. The burial place of the Rev. Tómas Sæmundsson (1807–41), a well–known writer and nationalist, friend and colleague of Jónas Hallgrímsson.
