Brú

Brú, (“Bridge”) the innermost farm in Jökuldalur, with land in to the glaciers and west to the river Kreppa. There was formerly a natural bridge over the Jökulsá river, which is where the name comes from. There is now a man–made bridge there. Four–wheel drive vehicles can be driven west across the moors south of the mountains Þríhyrningur and Mynnisfjallgarður and on track F905 south from Möðrudalur. It is also possible to drive (F910) east of Kreppa as far as the glacier Brúarjökull. Another track goes from Brú north across Jökuldalsheiði moor to join Highway 1 at the lake Sænautavatn.
