Þrándarholt, a farm with the rocky mountain Þrándur above. According to the Sagas, Þórður Andrésson, the last member of the Oddi clan, was killed there by Gissur Þorvaldsson. Nearby is Árnes (“River point”) which used to be a place of official meetings. It is now an island in the Þjórsá river but was formerly connected to the west bank. On the west side is a the waterfall Búðafoss, on the east side is the waterfall Hestafoss.
