Búlandstindur, (1,068 m) one of the highest and most majestic mountains in the east of Iceland.
In continuation west of Búlandstindur is Goðaborg (“Crag of the gods”), where it is said the idols of the heathen gods were carried up and thrown off the cliffs when Iceland converted to Christianity in the year 1000.
