Dýrafjörður, the largest of the fjords in Vestur–Ísafjarðarsýsla county, with the most varied scenery. About 39 km long, mostly narrow.
Near the mouth of the fjord are sheer, barren cliffs down to sea, but there is more flat land and grass further in.
Two isolated mountains, Mýrafell (312 m) to the north and Sandafell (367 m) to the south, are conspicuous landmarks.
