Fosshóll

Fosshóll, a farm since 1930 and a trading place. Fosshóll is a small commerce community at Goðafoss waterfall. There one can find a shop, a gas station, a restaurant, a handcrafts market and an accommodations.

This is a nice spot to stop while travelling on the highway, observe Goðafoss in the Skjálfandi River and enjoy the scenery at Ljósavatnsskarð Passage where there are several historical sites, such as Ljósavatn Lake and Þorgeirskirkja, but this church is named after Þorgeir goði, who was the one who decided that Icelanders should switch from being heathens and become Christians.
