Gönguskörð, a shallow valley or pass at the southern end of the mountain Tindastóll, leading from above Sauðárkrókur to the head of Laxárdalur. On the mountain Tindastóll, near the abandoned farm Breiðsstaðir, about 15 km from Sauðárkrókur, lies a ski slope with a 1,250 m traction lift. Side valleys lead from it south and west into the mountains and on to Húnavatnssýsla. Excellente skiing area.
