Grímsnes, the district marked by the rivers Sog on the south and Hvítá–Brúará on the east.
The southern parts mostly flat and covered by old lava–fields with extensive birch–bushes.
The upper parts wet in places, with an interesting mountain region furthest inland.
A very popular area for summer houses.
