Grímstunga, a big sheep farm, church and former parsonage. West of it is a rugged gorge, through which flows the river Álka. The beginning of the old route south via Grímstunguheiði moor to Borgarfjörður, now a jeep–track south to the moors and Stórisandur. The home, in the 10th century of Óttar, father of the poet Hallfreður vandræðaskáld.
