Gufuskálar

Gufuskálar, formerly the site of a U.S. loran station with a 420 m high mast, the highest construction in Iceland and at one time (1963) the highest in Europe. It is now to used for long–wave broadcasts of the Icelandic National Radio and is also a training center for the Icelandic Lifesaving Association. Many remains of the old fish–drying installations from the time when there was a great deal of rowing–boat fishing there.
