Hallbjarnarstaðir, a farm near which there are layers of shells ofprehistoric origin in the cliffs. Long the home of Kári Sigurjónsson (1875–1949), who with scientists investigated the shells, though the pioneering work was done by Guðmundur G. Bárðarson (1880–1933), geologist.
