Héðinshöfði, a farm, for 20 years the home of sheriff and parliamentarian Benedikt Sveinsson (1826–1899) who was prominent in the fight for independence, after the death of Jón Sigurðsson. His son, the poet Einar Benediktsson (1864–1940), who lies buried in the national cemetery at Þingvellir (see Road 36), was brought up there. Monument.
