Herðubreiðarlindir, an area of rich vegetation 5-6 km northeast of Herðubreið. Many springs appear from under the lava to make one stream or river, Lindaá. A wonderful oasis in the middle of black sands and lava. Ruins of a shelter, Eyvindarkofi, made by Fjalla- Eyvindur, the 18th century outlaw. A good tourist hut and a popular camping place. Protected area.
