Hestfjall

Hestfjall, (“Horse mountain”) (317 m) a mountain by Hvítá, believed to be part of an old shield–volcano made of tuff with a cap of basalt.

Old seashore lines found 120 m up in the mountainsides. Highest point called Hesteyru (“Horse ears”), probably part of the crater rim.

Very good view from Hestfjall, which is a gentle climb.
