Höfðabrekka, a farm and formerly a church. The farm was once situated at the foot of the mountain, but was moved higher up after the Katla eruption of 1660 and then down again in 1964. Some centuries ago Jóka was the lady of the house. It was said that she got so angry at one of the farmhands for making her daughter pregnant that after her death she haunted him and the farm for years. This notorious ghost was known as Höfðabrekku–Jóka.
