Hólmatungur, on the west side of the canyon. Many springs and tumbling brooks, woodland, rich in flowers, sheltered from most wind–directions, fine basalt columns. Unusual and beautiful scenery. Just to the south is Réttarfoss and the cliff Réttarbjarg.
