Húsafell

Húsafell, the innermost farm in the Hálsasveit district. Formerly a parsonage and church, now a chapel. Made famous among other things by Snorri Björnsson (1710-1803), versifier, poet and strong man, who tried his strength on the boulder Kvíahella (180 kg) which still stands in the cemetery.

Páll Guðmundsson (b. 1959) a known Icelandic sculptor and artist was born and raised at Húsafell and in fact he still lives there. Some is artwork can be found all around Húsafell as he sculptures faces on rocks he finds there.
