Vatnsdalur, a 25 km long valley. On its eastern side is the mountain Vatnsdalsfjall, steep, with rocks and scree, the highest peak being Jörundarfell (1,018 m). On the west are low ridges up to Víðidalsfjall with many farms in grassy, fertile country.
