Kálfafell

Kálfafell, farm, church. Parsonage until 1880. Served by the Rev. Páll Páls­son (1836–90), the first Icelander to teach the deaf. He first started teaching in 1867, publishing two textbooks for the deaf the same year, Bible Stories and Luther’s Theology. It was almost 130 years before a new textbook for the deaf was published in 1995.
