Svignaskarð, a substantial farm since early times, where many men of consequences have lived. Snorri Sturluson owned it for some time. The view from the view–dial on the crags, Kastali, just north of the farm is extremely good on clear days, with the glaciers Eiríksjökull, Geitlandsjökull, Þórisjökull and Ok to the east, Skarðsheiði and Hafnarfjall to the south and Baula to the north.
