Klaustursel

Hákonarstaðir, a farm dating to the Settlement Era and situated beside the Jökulsá river, across from Klaustursel. The bridge over the Jökulsá to Klaustursel farmstead is the oldest in Iceland that is still in use. Specially manufactured in the USA, it was imported as parts, riveted together on site and erected in 1908. Klaustursel has a small zoo, with reindeer, fox, geese and other Icelandic animals, together with a gallery offering items made of reindeer leather.
