Kollabúðir, (“Crown bothies”) an abandoned farm at the head of Þorskafjörður. Some trace the name to Irish settlers who were Christian and shaved the crown of their heads. By the Músará river was the ancient Þorskafjörður assembly site, where in the latter half of the 19th century the Kollabúðir meetings for freedom and progress were held. See statue at road side. Road 608 goes from there onto Þorskafjarðarheiði moor.
