Kverkfjöll, (1,920 m) a magnificent mountain range in northern Vatnajökull. One of the largest geothermal areas in the country on the west side of the mountains, creating many beautiful ice caves in the glacier. A good tourist hut north of Kverkfjöll and another one high in the mountains. Good walking routes.
