Kvíabekkur

Kvíabekkur, a church and a parsonage until 1914. Around 1330 Lárent­íus, Bishop of Hólar, founded a sort of old folks home there for retired priests. The home of governors, e.g. Þorkell Fjeldsted (1740–96), who was one of three men on a committee appointed by the Danish king in 1770 to investigate conditions in Iceland.
