Langanes, a large peninsula between Þistilfjörður and Bakkaflói, mountainous in the south but lower in the north but with high cliffs all around it. Breeding–place of gannet. Some flat land on the west, little on the east. Marshy in places. Has a raw, foggy climate. Little habitation, many farms having been abandoned in recent years.
