Leiðólfsstaðir, a farm which Laxdæla saga tells us was the home of a man and wife who had such magic powers that they could strike people dead. Their son was no less powerful, for when he looked out through a hole in the sack in which he had been trapped, all the grass there withered and has never grown since. Another son was drowned in Hvammsfjörður after which there were no fish in the fjord.
