Ljótsstaðir

Ljótsstaðir, a farm where Gunnar Gunnarsson (1889–1975), one of Iceland’s greatest authors, was brought up. From 1907–39 he lived in Denmark and wrote in Danish, becoming one of the most popular novelists in Denmark at the time. The farm appears in the first part of his novel Fjallkirkjan (see Road 931, Skriðuklaustur).
