Lundarbrekka

Lundarbrekka, church and farm east of the Skjálfandafljót river. Originally settled by Gnúpa–Bárður, the first settler in Bárðardalur, who later moved his whole household right across the central highlands to Fljótshverfi near Kirkjubæjarklaustur in the south. No doubt he was the first Icelander to take that route.
