Rauðanes, where Skallagrímur had his smithy. He needed a hard, smooth rock to use as an anvil, so he rowed out into the fjord, dived down and found a large boulder, heaved it into the boat and rowed ashore, where he put the boulder outside the door to the smithy. That stone is still in the same place, quite unlike other rocks at Rauðanes, and is thought to need four men to move it.
