Reykir

Reykir, in Tungusveit, church and old manor farm. Much geothermal heat, and a swimming pool was built there in 1882. There is so much heat that snow mostly melts as soon as it falls, and the churchyard is actually "cozy", being probably the only warm graveyard in the world. The farmer, Kristján Jóhannesson, has built a house in the old style, of turf and stone, with a panelled interior, where he has set up his personal collection of old objects.
