Reykjaheiði

Reykjaheiði, high moorland between the districts Reykjahverfi and Kelduhverfi. Flattish, but with lava and isolated fells and spurs. Moorland vegetation. Big volcanic craters. Snowy and stormy, height 300–400 m. The Reykjaheiðarvegur route went across these moors, but was abandoned when the road was built round Tjörnes.
