Sandafell, (367 m) a mountain above the village Þingeyri, named after the ancient manor farm Sandar, often mentioned in records from the time of the Sturlungas in the 13th century. It was long a parsonage, now abandoned, but the cemetery is still there. It is possible to drive up the mountain to a view–dial.
