Súðavík, village. Primary industries are fish processing and fishing. Since 1995, when an avalanche destroyed a big part of the village, it has been divided into two parts, the old and the new. The new village was built on a location safe from avalanches, and the old part is kept intact as a summer resort for travellers.

There are numerous marked hiking paths in the Súðavík area, including an old mail route leading from the bottom of Álftafjörður fjord, over to Önundafjörður fjord. There is also a good campsite and a family park Raggagarður, with recreational equipments. The Arctic Fox, a research and exhibition centre, focusing on the arctic fox.
