Þiðrandalág

Hof, a farm and a place of settlement, for a while the home of Síðu–Hallur, a chieftain of the 10th century. His son, Þiðrandur was killed in the field at Hof, now called Þiðrandalág. A church and parsonage until 1905. Birthplace of the brothers Eysteinn Jónsson (1906–93), member of parliament, minister of state and chairman of the Progressive Party, and the Rev. Jakob Jónsson (1904–89), well–known cleric and author.
