Þinghóll, (“Assembly hill”) north and east of the ford in the river Gljúfurá, below the abandoned farm Grísatunga. It is thought that the spring assembly of the Þverárþing west of the river Hvítá was held there for a time, probably from the beginning of the land–quarter assemblies (about 965) until they started having assemblies at Faxið by the river Þverá.
