Þjóðgarðurinn í Jökulsárgljúfrum

Jökulsárgljúfur, the largest river canyon in Iceland and most spectacular, about 25 km. The upper canyon, between the mountain Þórunnarfjall and Dettifoss, is up to 120 m deep. The land along the western bank up as far as Dettifoss is a National Park of over 120 km2, established in 1973 and a part of Vatnajökull National Park since 2008.
