Þverbrekka, abandoned farm on the west side of the river, once the home of Víga–Glúmur of Saga times. Þverbrekkuhnjúkur (1,142 m), one of the highest and most rugged mountains in the vicinity is above the farm. There is a guest book in a cairn at the top of the peak. Above some small hills on the side of the mountain is a small lake Þverbrekkuvatn.
