Ullarfoss

Svartárkot, the innermost farm on the east side of the Bárðardalur valley, 400 m above sea level, near the moors and at the edge of the Ódáðahraun lava field. It is on the lake Svartárvatn to which farmer Einar Friðriksson brought trout spawn from Lake Mývatn late in the 19th century, a unique event in those days. Good fishing in the lake. The river Svartá, in which is the waterfall Ullarfoss, flows out of the lake, is joined by Suðurá, and flows into Skjálfandafljót a little north of the farm Víðiker. Jeep track from Svartárkot to the Dyngjufjöll mountains.
