Vatnajökull

Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Iceland and Europe, over 8000 km2, its highest point being Bárðarbunga (2000 m). The highest point in Iceland is Hvannadalshnjúkur (2110 m) on the Öræfajökull glacier. The biggest glacier coming from Vatnajökull is Brúarjökull. Vatnajökull has been a National Park since 2008.
