Víðimýri

Víðimýri, a farm and church. A place of historical importance for centuries, and frequently the home of outstanding leaders, among them Kolbeinn ungi Arnórsson and Kol­beinn Tumason. The church was built 1834 and is one of the most precious gems of Icelandic architecture. In the keeping of the National Museum since 1936. The church is open for guests in the summer.
