Víðivellir

Víðivellir, an old manor farm, often a parsonage, the seat of district judges and other magistrates. The home of the Rev. Pétur Pétusson (1754–1842) who was the first person to grow potatoes in Skaga­fjörður. Birthplace of Gott­skálk, father of the famous sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen who was half Danish and lived in Denmark.
