Vigur, a lovely island west of the Ögurnes peninsula, 0.59 km2, rich in eider duck and puffin, formerly a fishing–station. Some relics of old farming methods are preserved on Vigur, including Viktoríuhús and Iceland’s only protected windmill, belived to have been built in 1860.
