Vikrafell

Hreðavatn, a lake and farm of the same name. There is trout–fishing in the lake and several small islands covered with the rich vegetation which is a feature of the immediate area. Lignite, mined at one time, is found a little above the farm, also plant fossils from the warm interval of the Tertiary period. Some distance west of the lake there is a lone pyramid–shaped peak, Vikrafell (539 m). By the lake is a forrest Jafnaskarðsskógur.
