Places > Southwest > Búrfell Búrfell Búrfellsvirkjun, a power–station, 270 MW., built in 1969 on the river Þjórsá. A big dam was built to the northeast of Búrfell and the water diverted through tunnels to the generators under Sámsstaðamúli.
