Laxárdalur, a long, narrow valley between low grassy ridges, not spectacular though the river Laxá, that flows through it, is a good fishing river. The setting for the Laxdæla saga (“Saga of the people of Laxárdalur”). By the old bridge there is a pool called Papi.
