Námafjall

Námafjall, the mountain south of Námaskarð, with geothermal heat all over the east side of the mountain, which looks light yellow from a distance.

Sulphur was mined there for centuries from the Hlíðarnámur mines and exported.

Great care must be taken and all warnings observed as there have been many accidents. Námaskarð, a narrow pass between the mountains Námafjall and Dalfjall.
